A "School" Teacher...
To be honest it was kind of difficult to think about a teacher that had made such an impact in my life through school. But I did remember a very good church leader that somehow was for me like a professor. She was Rosa, the dear Tía Rosita.
When I was between 14 and 18 years old I was part of a protestant branch of christianism, the Seventh Day Adventist Church. I entered there when I was in complete puberty, so it is until nowadays that some things of christianism are stuck up in my head even though I’m not part of them anymore. So there she was, Tía Rosita, an older lady full of love who only wanted to teach the kids and teenagers of the neighborhood about God and Christ.
She used to teach us about anything in the bible to be honest, so there was not a specific subject.
I do remember her as a very reliable person. Someone who probably wouldn't criticize you. We both trusted one another a lot, and it was furthermore when I was assigned with some important chores inside the departments of the church.
I learned from her not to give up, even when the time on earth was gone or the strength was lost.
I cannot remember the last time I saw her. It was in the middle of the pandemic when I was in a very difficult situation and then I decided to leave the church and all that world behind. I sent a farewell letter because I wasn’t strong enough to face her and tell her that I didn’t wanted to do this anymore. So it’s been almost 4 years since we stopped talking and getting to know each other. I do wish her the best, and I also wish her to continue to be part of the church.
The girl posing is my friend Javiera, the lady at the right is Tia Rosita and I'm beside her. We were at a ceremony at Colegio Adventista Buenaventura, Lo Espejo. |
